Whitley Builders owns its own plant and machinery, which saves the customer money on hire costs and keeps all work in-house. We have narrow equipment available to use in areas with restricted access, and we can bring plant and machinery to site using a dependable vehicle fleet for transportation.
Our general and new home builders understand the individual requirements of every project, achieving a high standard of workmanship without running over the client’s budget. Our business owner oversees and manages the project as your dedicated point of contact with the wider support of an administrative team to ensure everything runs smoothy once we are onsite.
If a lack of habitable space affects how you use or live in the home, we can propose manageable ideas to increase a property’s footprint or convert space that already exists. All workmanship is covered by a 12-month guarantee and new builds come with a standard 10-year warranty to cover labour and material defects.
Our insurance-backed warranties come supplied by Build Zone.
All key personnel and many builders on our team have sat their City & Guilds, NVQ and HNC qualifications, and gone on to earn their CSCS cards and gained SMSTS accreditation. All other manual trades used have registration to their respective governing bodies, including NICEIC, Gas Safe and HETAS.
Our general and new home builders comply with the UK Building Regulations, and we can also assist you with brickwork and ironworks.
We try to ensure that our employees have as many of these qualifications as possible to guarantee higher industry standards. Teams are trained on the project or in-house. Sometimes, we use external training providers to educate on larger items of plant, equipment and machinery, such as forklift trucks.
External companies administer first aid training, and we also hold regular toolbox talks. Training is very important to us. We invest time and money to ensure staff sustain high levels of competence, health and safety.
We are currently running an apprenticeship programme so a new generation of builders can continue to enter the industry and be developed.

Whitley Builders has built up a rapport with local tradesmen who are able to offer bespoke services, whether that is intricate brickwork to match existing walls as part of a renovation scenario and preserving the historical nature of a structure, or as brickwork to enhance an external landscaping project.

Subcontractors
Where we need to bring in external experts, we work closely (and for some, we have done so over many years) with local subcontractors. They bring expertise and additional experience to the table in the form of bespoke brickwork, electrical installations and plumbing or heating services. As experts in their own field, we ensure subcontractors are always fully up to speed with the latest regulations and requirements, have the relevant insurances and trade certifications for their industries in place, and bring their additional knowledge to pass on to us and clients of what has worked well in the past.
